Things to Do

Boating, Fishing & Charters

The Comox Valley is located in the heart of some of the West Coast's most accessible and beautiful waterways. By day, you can cruise past sandy beaches, rocky coastlines and sheltered inlets fed by shimmering waterfalls and crystal clear streams and then spend the night moored at the Comox Harbour.

The Town of Comox celebrates its maritime past and present during its annual Comox Nautical Days celebration.  A participant in the Comox Valley 2007 Cultural Capital of Canada designation, enjoy Comox Nautical Days on the August long weekend.

Boating in Comox Valley
‘At the heart of the understanding of culture is the idea of personal and island identity, of community, of shared heritage.’

Moorage options include private marinas or Comox Fisherman's Wharf, a working commercial harbour and home to the local fishing fleet. This safe and convenient harbour provides boaters with showers, laundry and visitor information. Just steps away visitors will find charming shops and fantastic restaurants and pubs.

Summer westerly winds and the predominantly sheltered waters of the Strait of Georgia provide ideal conditions for boating and sailing. Local businesses offer a range of charter and tours services to fulfill your vacation dreams!

Salt and fresh water sport fishing is one of the Valley's biggest attractions. Well-stocked lakes, countless rivers and protected ocean waters contain salmon, red snapper and halibut, as well as cutthroat trout and steelhead.

Rent a boat or take a charter, and get ready to catch the big one!
