Family Fun:

It's easy to put a smile on your child's face in the Comox Valley. Kids of all ages will find plenty to keep them occupied year round, both indoors and outside.

Water lovers will enjoy making a splash at our local wave pool or running through twisting sprinklers at a water park on a hot summer day. Safe stretches of sandy beaches offer a perfect place for little ones to frolic along the shoreline, explore tidal pools or build a sand castle between refreshing dips in the ocean.

Those with inquiring minds will love a trip to one of our museums. Here they can explore a replica coal mine, learn about our prehistoric past or even take a field trip to a local river to dig for their own fossils. The Courtenay and District Museum runs fossil trips throughout the summer.

Local recreation centres offer year round kids programming including sailing, camping, art classes, theatre, climbing, dance, martial arts and more!

Kids of all ages can take skiing and snowboarding lessons at Mount Washington Alpine Resort or get their adrenaline rushing with an afternoon or evening of snow tubing.

If you want to get close up with nature, visit one of our petting farms. Hand feed baby goats, take a pony ride and be dazzled by the colourful display of a peacock. If your little one has a passion for the Wild West, don't miss the Courtenay Rodeo in August.

Skateboard parks, a BMX race track, numerous playgrounds, three movie theatres and mini-golf all help to keep active kids occupied. Take the kids to see the monster trucks and car races at Saratoga Speedway or head to Mount Washington for the decadent Chocolate Festival. Local festivals have special kids activities and entertainment and our annual KidsFest is dedicated solely to the little ones.

Children's clothing boutiques, book and toy stores offer great shopping and many local restaurants feature kids menus and activities.

Kids of all ages are very welcome in the Comox Valley!
