Alpine Summer:

The Comox Valley is truly an alpine to ocean destination, featuring stunning views from the mountains that you won't want to miss. Crystal clear viewscapes of the Comox Valley and mainland Coast Range, masses of brilliant alpine wildflowers and high mountain lakes and glaciers are just a few of the sights you can see from "up high".

The alpine can be accessed through the Forbidden Plateau Recreation Area, Mount Washington Alpine Resort and through backcountry trails and roads behind Comox Lake.

Forbidden Plateau Recreation Area offers a variety of hiking and mountain biking trails and direct access to the wild side of Strathcona Park. From here you can pursue 2 and 3 day hikes to Mt. Becher, Mt Drabble, Indian Head Mountain and the Comox Glacier all within the parks boundaries. Contact one of our local outfitters or mountain guides to get the details on routes, supplies, and safety or to arrange a guided adventure before heading into the backcountry.

The vast wilderness of Strathcona Provincial Park can also be accessed through Paradise Meadows on the way to Mount Washington Alpine Resort. Beautiful well groomed trails and awe-inspiring views abound at Mount Washington as well. In the summer months the resort offers chairlift rides to the summit where you can take in the breathtaking views of Mount Albert Edward and the Strait of Georgia. Other summer activities on the mountain include biking, disc golf, bungee trampoline, ATV tours, fly fishing, horseback riding, mini golf, special festivals and events and more!
