Taste Comox Valley Marketing Update

The Comox Valley is becoming known as the culinary, agritourism and agriinvestment destination on Vancouver Island.

To continue to increase this focus and awareness, and take advantage of the attention of the Vancouver Olympics, many of the Comox Valley’s 2010 and Beyond strategies are targeted around the culinary and agricultural sectors to generate increased media awareness, increased investment and increased visitation to the region.

Here's a heads-up on some Taste Comox Valley related activities:

Northwest Yachting Magazine - "Destination Comox"

Discover Comox Valley recently had the opportunity to host Anne and Laurence Yeadon-Jones, writer and photographer for Northwest Yachting Magazine, for an article they were doing on the Comox Harbour and surrounding area.   The result is a 6 page article on our area that hit the US boating market on Canada Day - just in time for the July 4th and summer holiday planning!  In addition to compiling the required nautical information, the couple also made time to enjoy other facets of the Valley, including a variety of restaurants, downtown shops and services, and area parks and walkways.  Read all about it here!

HelloBC.com Community Content update

The Comox Valley's content on www.hellobc.com is in the process of being revitalized for the official tourism website of the Province of British Columbia. A professional writer engaged for the project recently paid a visit to the Valley and compiled research and experienced the communities of Comox and Courtenay first hand.  This same writer will be returning next week to do the same for the Cumberland area and will in the coming weeks pay a visit to the community of Mount Washington as well.
