Comox Valley Farm Cycle Tour 2013

 

If you love to cycle and enjoy discovering the local bounty from the surrounding land and sea, register for the 3rd  annual Comox Valley Farm Cycle Tour. The 2013 event takes place on Saturday, Aug 10th  and Sunday Aug 11th.  A new route on the beautiful Comox Peninsula will be attractive to returning and new riders.  These unique tours provide a great opportunity to cycle some of the regions most stunning rural areas and meet local farmers that will greet and host cyclists at their properties with displays, tours, products, entertainment and fun! This is a fantastic event for the whole family!

On Saturday, after registering, why not start your Farm Cycle Tour at the Comox Valley Farmers' Market for breakfast, music or other market goodies. Many vendors are offering Farm Cycle Tour participants discounts simply by showing their official event map.

Saturday August 10, 2013 (rain or shine)

Back Roads Bliss

Farms open 9am - 4pm

A moderate cycling itinerary that visits northward to a number of interesting farms.

 

Rural Ramble

Farms open 10am - 2pm

Family friendly shorter itinerary that visits farms in the Dove Creek area.

  • Registration and sign in from 10am-11am at the Comox Valley Farmers Market/Exhibition Grounds - 4839 Headquarters Rd, Courtenay. Free day parking for vehicles on site. 

 

NEW Comox Peninsula

Farms open 9am - 4pm

A moderate cycling itinerary along the Estuary and through the Comox Peninsula.

  •  Registration and sign in from 9am-11am at the Comox Valley Farmers Market /Exhibitions grounds - 4839 Headquarters Rd, Courtenay. Free day parking for vehicles on site. 

 

Sunday August 11th, 2013 (rain or shine)

Bayviews

Farms open 9am - 4pm

A moderate route that visits farms from Royston to Fanny Bay with great views of the Strait of Georgia.

  • Registration and sign in 9am-11am at the Buckley Bay rest stop on the connector between Highway 19 and 19A (if you are participating in the 2 day tour, you will be able to register for the Bayviews route at the above locations on Saturday August 11 as well)
 
Cost and Registration
  • To register for one day (one route) is $15.00 per person - Kids under 15 ride free!        Register online here.
