The Comox Valley community celebrates diversity and many community organizations exist to provide leadership and coordination for events, cultural celebrations, advocacy, education and much more.
The Association Francophone de la Vallee de Comox is a membership driven volunteer organization that takes pride in presenting the Maple Sugar Shack, Lobster Fest, social events, children's programs and French language camps all to promote French culture and traditions in the Comox Valley.
The Upper Island Women of Native Ancestry present the annual Comox Valley Pow Wow and a variety of other cultural events throughout the year. They work with woman of native ancestry to facilitate collaboration and linkages for daycare programs, cultural events and advocacy.
Up in the Village of Cumberland, The Lantern Festival and Lunar New Year events celebrate the historical links between the Village of Cumberland and the Chinese Canadian community. Several events take place throughout the year to recognize the significant Chinese and Japanese communities that lived in the Village at the turn of the century.
