This region is comprised of the three small communities of Fanny Bay, Union Bay and Royston. The area begins approximately 5 minutes south of Courtenay and is well known for its supply of oysters from Baynes Sound. Some must see sites include a local gallery, farmer’s market stands, ship wrecks, and the boats in the ocean near the local boat launch. The scenery while driving along the Island Highway is breathtaking. From the highway you can see Hornby Island and Denman across the ocean while witnessing a variety of wildlife including sea lions and bald eagles.
